The Shift of Ages
The Shift of the Ages is an upcoming movie featuring a Mayan Shaman, Grandfather Cirilo, telling his tale of the mysterious effects of the Mayan calendar and the ending of this particular cycle of time-which happens to coincide, with my Grand-daughter Zoë’s’ 7th birthday: December 21, 2012. Is the message one of the end of time?
Humanity’s issues with the Dark Ages have not ended. We are in a transcendence era with the ignorance, ego, greed, anger, separateness, hatred of the Dark Ages coming to a climax. According to the Mayan Calendar a new time is dawning, and a new sun will appear. Grandfather Cirilo weaves a positive message of change that counteracts the vision the media and masses dwell upon. This is not a film of Apocalypse, but more of the revelation of an undercurrent of change that is vastly precipitating as world wide healing.
The movie will first appear in private showings, then as a DVD, and then become digitally available on the Internet. This is Grandfather’s story, a tale of an indigenous people, the Mayan, and their miraculous sciences, amazing cities and mysterious disappearance. It is also a tale of place, our place in the scheme of life.
There are Sacred Places where “entanglement” meets like the traffic jams on our freeways. Where multiplicity occurs, those multi-verses of family heritage, karma, and destiny, collide but without the pain of collision and cohabitate and emanate discernible energies. Shamans, empaths, sensitives, maybe even the other end of human spectrum the autistic, feel and sense this and are moved to change, to dis-create the tangle, untie the knots and or feel another flow, another dimension, another calling.
There are also vast wastelands of humanity where life has stagnated and dis-ease dominates. We are trapped in our small self with personal issues, agendas, habits, emotional armor, family entanglement, and addictions. Ironically, anything that diminishes our connection to our Greater Self diminishes our connection to others, which is actually what gives our life its greatest meaning. When we remember and acknowledge that we are one, it makes it so much easier to “be in joy” with each other; and this in turn reunites us with our Greater Self. Grandfather Cirilo invites everyone to join the multitudes that are doing “The Work” of self exploration, freeing our own personal entanglements by unraveling the “nots” holding humanity back from a direct experience of our potential. The information and skill sets to do, The Work, are not just available, but are being assimilated by millions worldwide.
This "shift" may seem to be clichéd trends: the Greening of America, the Age of Aquarius, The Peace Movement, Human Potential Movement, Women’s Revolutions, Racial Equality, Sexual Revolution, The Information Age, The Internet, Social Media, Eastern Religions in America, Yoga, Eastern Medicine, and many more, are combating the “nots.” The limiting beliefs and entanglements that the Dark Ages has imprinted and trapped humanity, is a life’s adventure, I call MORE-onism. The good news is that our new age is filled with LESS-ons.
Many events in our lifetime point to major change. Though often poo-pooed as psycho-babble or new age woo-woo, events or non-events as the Harmonic Convergence, the 11:11 openings, the Aquarian age, or the Millennium are harbingers of change. New Age trainings often mirror the old prophecies of Revelations from the Bible, Edgar Cayce, and Nostradamus. The Mayan Calendar, and the mass of New Age writers who act as channels, Starseed Transmission, Conversations with God, The Secret or What the Bleep prophesize a transformative time. When we resolve, disentangle, or discreate our self-imposed limits we create the freedom for more choices, greater creativity and insights. This freedom is the reward for doing The Work. The glue that held the status quo together is dissolving from doing The Work as a new consciousness emerges.
This is the meaning to the Shift of Ages I am feeling. Grandfather Cirilo speaks of the new age, which may be a new sun as implied by the calendar ending, or a symbol for a new source. A source that may be outside of our self, but our changes in human evolution and an expansive ethical nature is growing within us.
This Shift is a freeing of energy and ultimately freeing where we place our attention. Our attention is now prevalently held in our entanglements, the “nots” of our body armor held in place from unreleased or unresolved issues. It is commonplace to accept our negative emotions as being more important than forgiveness, compassion and self love. We protect our blame, shame, guilt, fear, anxieties, angst, and incomplete communications to justify further negativity. These are the mass of limiting beliefs and habits impeding our choices and our freedoms.
Our beliefs have been twisted by the spin-doctors of history. We were convinced that The Declaration of Independence meant “pursue,” instead of Jefferson’s meaning of pursuit, to practice happiness-fostering a belief that someone other than the person I see in the mirror is responsible for my success or happiness.
These are systems of beliefs, that our ego, holds on to:
I have to be right I can’t make a mistake I already know that Cemented in place by the ‘stinking thinking’ words and phrases like ‘shoulds and oughts’, have to’s and musts’, can’ts, blame, try, excuses, always and never, and the “must haves’ of status quo, good job, the degree, a mate, a house and the most odiferous word of all, the opposite of life hate. These words feed our egos keeping us trapped in the Dark Ages. Our language is made up of definitions that presuppose opposites, creating a duality of limits. “Yes” opens the door for “no” and most often no means go no further, don’t even ask. We are trapped in a communication system that doesn’t capture the essence of meaning but skirts the issue with vague generalization about what is.
Our language is only “like” a language. The idiomatic expressions of “Like you know, man,” or “Like it’s like when someone talks around something.,” is the vague nonsense of trapped beliefs. Instead of being responsible for our communication, we have become a humanity of blamers, of Bart Simpson’s. “I didn’t do it” is the credo of the rationalizers, excusers, and justifiers. Families are entangled with parental power struggles or lack of parental role models. They are bound together by money, health or relationship issues that are unresolved and create behaviors counter productive to success and freedom. We no longer honor the wisdom of the elders. Children are being raised by (k)no(w)er’s. “No more, no you can’t!” The reactive adult saying “no” limits a child’s’ development. Addictively saying no imprints within the child that the world is unable to give you what you want, so don’t even ask.
Add to the above the multiplicity of identities existing within each individual. Humanity holds the false belief that we are a single identity instead of a number of identities, identities, which like our language, often oppose each other. Our limits also include: Ageism: being too old or too young. Health epidemics: AIDS, autism, obesity, HIV, ADD. Our bodies still hold the fight or flight survival mechanisms, creating reaction rather than response. Religious entanglements from misrepresented messages from a fear inducing god that deals in sin, guilt and shame, creating wealth for generations of churches and religions. Two major religions have created gender biases limiting each sex to gender constraints.
Lack of education, tilted education, over-education or someone else’s curriculum to create educational criteria-degrees and acceptance, that miss understanding, esteem, and questions.
Yes, we are approaching a Shift of Ages, a Apotheosis Those doing The Work are saying “Yes” freeing themselves from the entanglement. With each Yes a larger wave forms to loosen the net that has entrapped humanity from the (k)not of can’t, no, and the belief in limits. We are moving from a world of duality, of yes and no, cause and effect, karma, yin/yang to another paradigm of understanding and standing in the shoes of source, we are source of our experience. There is no blame as I am creator.
The mass media has played a role in this shift. The music from the sixties stimulated racial integration, freedom of expression, honest feelings, desires, pleasure, and getting All shook up.” And a whole lotta shaking going on changed the airwaves, and freed a lot of energy bound up in the hips of adolescent worldwide. Rock and Roll spurred New Age and world music from Will Powers to Bliss, Stephen Helpern, Kitaro, use psycho-acoustical means and TRANCE-formative poetry to affirm positive changes. The Beatles meditated, and sang “All you need is Love.”
Some of the lyric were straight form Ancient Wisdom:
“Here you are at my place, and within your glistening eyes, I am watching at your reaction, as the thing within you dies.I’m bringing you this message, because I think it’s time you knew, the kingdom of heaven is within you.” Mother Earth 1969.
The Work is not just for the disenfranchised of society but the mainstream, corporate leaders, soccer moms, and waves of new entrepreneurs. We are not limited to one philosophy, but a merging and greater understanding of how diversity creates greater connections. Teachers are not just available on mountain tops of Tibet or India, but on the Internet, all over America and the world. Creating goals are no longer just financial in nature, for status or acquiring wealth, but for acquiring virtues such as patience, compassion, integrity, clarity, empowerment, self-acceptance and self-love. All of this is available to the masses on a sliding scale. Physical exercise is being honored. The body is being healed with conscious dance and movements accepting pleasure and freeing body armor. Yoga, Pilates, NIA, Aerobics, and dance are being practiced by millions. Walking and biking are mainstream activities creating endorphins that are waylaying addictions. We are freeing our selves from couch-potato existence.
The acceptance of Eastern Medicine with it principals of self-healer has opened us even wider with such modalities as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) becoming available to anyone to use as a tool to keep their energy freeways open. Our minds and emotions are opening up as 12-step programs heal and take away the control of security, sensation and power addictions. Meet-up groups are forming in masses to practice meditation and healing. Affirmations have become mainstream: “Just do it.” Science is sharing on public television new understanding of how brain ages and brain plasticity works. We have nutritional supplement to create greater focus, and allow individuals greater control of their health. Neuro Linguistic Practices (NLP) are unraveling how humans can get what they want revealing how success can be modeled, not just in business but in relationships, both personal and inter-personal.
The success of Tony Robbins, Stephen Covey, Deepak Chopra, the movies The Secret, and What the Bleep, share techniques to free ourselves through ancient wisdom and new age techniques, appealing to the corporate world, government and the seekers. All of these changes were predicted by prophets, as the millennium offers a sense of a new beginning, and a revitalized vision even as the old paradigm crumble in an economic meltdown.
We are becoming a world where healthy foods are available. When we are fed properly we can exercise, we can waken to new ideas, and are more tolerant of others. We begin to recognize positive rituals like family time. We become responsible for physical, mental and emotional health rather than dependent on someone else for your health, like the AMA, drug companies and health insurance. The Yes side of the continuum is freeing more and more individuals from limiting beliefs and the entrapments. The clues are in place as to what needs to be done, and what is being done.
The Shift of Ages is a vision of a Mayan Shaman, who with this movie is catalyzing the evolution of humanity into a Fifth Age. See the movie, do The Work; it is the age to become enlightened.
