Dynamic Ease

The Sunday Morning Church of ATTENTION
Dynamic Ease
As a dynamic red sun rises over the hills of Benicia, I reflect upon a most amazing class presented by NIA instructor Liz Mac.

NIA is conscience dance. It is the freedom to follow the pleasure in ones body, to stretch to ancient and new tunes, to contract with strengthen to ones breath in rhythm to sweat and create art with your body, solo and in choreography.

This day Liz gave us the continuum of ease and dynamic. Flowing with lightness transitioning to a forceful vibrancy. Take the same dance, and increase intensity as if you became statuesque as marble or granite. Then become fluid as a stream, or floating like a feather.

Conscience dance means you are source. I am the creator not drawn to habitual movement, repeating a grapevine, an eight-step rhythm, an elevating movement in praise, or a bow of gratitude. Moving in new ways, today seeking force of a modern dancer and next softening becoming the chi of gentleness.

This day Liz added a dimension. An aspect available to speakers using vocal variety, by changing volume or tempo. To those making a statement by using YES! NO! or Maybe .The continuum of Repulse, attract, and let go. We becamethe artist whose broad stroke becomes more powerful when the flimsiness of shading brings harmony or contrast to the palette.

NIA is play, a game to find unknown beauty and pleasure in being the music, an instrument that interprets the magic of sounds, the joy of being the dance, and the truth that we are our creator.

Thanks  to Liz.
Thanks to Lisa Morningstar for her feedback in creating a more readable format.
Thanks to all the moms, especially mine, for enrolling me in dance class.
